Ishigakijima
Ishigakijima is the main island of the Yaeyama Islands, about 410 kilometres south-west of Okinawa Island, and the harbour from which Taketomi and Iriomote are reached.

Kabira Bay, on the north-west coast, is designated a Place of Scenic Beauty of Japan, its water shading from jade to deep blue over white sand, and off the east coast the reef at Shiraho holds one of the largest colonies of blue coral in the northern hemisphere.
