The people who run
every tour we make
We plan, organise and run every tour ourselves, and that takes people who know Japan from the inside and hold themselves to the standard our guests expect. These are the roles we are building the company around.
The roles
You travel every mile of a published tour with our guests, from the arrivals hall to the final departure, and you carry the day: the pace, the properties, the kitchens, the driver, everything on the ground handled in Japanese so that no guest ever negotiates anything. Fluent Japanese and English, years of private touring or luxury hospitality in Japan, and the temperament to be with eight guests for twelve days and still be looking after them on the last evening.
You hold our relationships with the ryokan, the hotels, the kitchens, the drivers and the makers who receive our guests, and you secure each departure with them months ahead. Native Japanese, based in Japan, at ease on the telephone with an innkeeper who has no website and never will. The bookkeeping and the chasing are the system's; the relationships are yours.
What we look for
Knowledge from the inside
We value real knowledge over familiarity. Our people know Japan the way one knows home: its seasons, its customs, its quieter registers.
Reading the guest
Private touring is the reading of people. Needs anticipated, days adjusted without fuss, and moments that feel effortless to the guest because the effort was ours.
Quiet excellence
Nothing loud. Precise, thoughtful and refined, in every detail and every exchange, because that is what our guests came for.
Trust
Our people work across Japan with autonomy. We trust them to make the right call on the ground, and they do.
