The rooms
The rooms are terrace rooms of 50 to 61 square metres, in four types, each with twin beds, most with a daybed by the window, and an open-air onsen on the terrace facing the lake; the corner rooms are the largest.

The onsen
Every room has its own open-air onsen of the Toyako spring, a chloride and bicarbonate water. The shared onsen is built as an infinity pool high over the lake, and the onsen floor adds an indoor onsen, a jacuzzi, a cold plunge and a sauna with the whole lake in view.

Dining
Dinner is a kaiseki of Hokkaido, Toyako beef, scallops and crab among it, served in a dining room on a terrace at the water's edge; on our tours the evening's kaiseki is included. Breakfast brings the morning's Hokkaido produce grilled for the table.

Lake Toya
Lake Toya fills a round caldera ringed by volcanoes, the islands of Nakajima at its centre and Mount Usu on its southern shore. Konosumika stands on the shore at Toyako Onsen, every window turned to the water.
The hotel stands on the lakeshore of Toyako Onsen, where boats cross to the islands of Nakajima, and the ropeway up Mount Usu and the dome of Showa-Shinzan are a short drive away.
