the room
The rooms
The rooms run from the deluxe rooms, in king or twin, on high floors with a sofa, a desk and the mountains in the window, through the Mt. Yotei rooms named for the volcano they face and the Panorama rooms with their wide mountain views, to family rooms for up to four and the suites. A hanging fireplace warms the lobby on a winter evening.
to unwind
The onsen and the spa
The hotel's onsen runs indoors, beneath windows onto the mountainside, and outdoors beside a pond of carp, with Mount Yotei in view. The spa takes the forest as its theme and joins Japanese bodywork, old and new, to sports science, its treatment rooms glazed from floor to ceiling onto Niseko.
the table
Dining
The hotel keeps nine restaurants and bars: a teppanyaki counter where Wagyu and seafood are cooked in front of you, a sushi counter, a Japanese dining room that sets the classics beside dishes of the wider world, a pub with private rooms, and a bar and grill on the second floor looking to Mount Yotei, for Hokkaido beef and seafood with local wines and whisky.
the setting
Niseko
The hotel stands in Niseko Village, at Higashiyama Onsen, where the southern slopes of Niseko Annupuri come down to the valley floor. The ski runs and the golf course of the mountain are on one side, and across the fields rises Mount Yotei, the volcanic cone of south-west Hokkaido.
The Niseko Gondola leaves from beside the hotel, the golf course of Niseko Annupuri lies below it, and Mount Yotei rises across the valley.
