Every room is a suite, in five kinds: suites of 94 square metres with a bath of stone or wood, some an infinity bath of stone; suites with an open-air bath of rock or great stone; two garden suites with an open-air bath of great stone; five rooftop suites; and three villa suites of 241 to 363 square metres.

The onsen and the spa
The onsen draws a natural alkaline spring from deep below Mount Fuji into indoor and open-air pools facing the mountain. An infinity pool of the foothills' groundwater is lined up with the summit, with dry and mist saunas and a hammam beside it, and the spa uses the spring water and the oil of tachibana, a wild Japanese citrus of the Fuji watershed.

The ryokan keeps five tables: a kaiseki of the land and waters of Mount Fuji, a kappo counter where the bonito is shaved and the dashi drawn before you, a sushi counter of aged and cured fish from Suruga Bay, a teppanyaki counter for rare-breed beef, and an all-day dining room of Japanese and Western cooking.

Subashiri lies at the foot of Mount Fuji in the town of Oyama, Shizuoka, on the road from Gotemba towards Lake Yamanaka, and the ryokan stands on its hillside with the mountain before it and the forest of the foothills around.
