The rooms
Every room is a suite in warm wood, of 70 to 130 square metres, in five kinds: suites on the ground and upper floors, larger suites and corner suites, and two suites over two floors, with a modern tatami living room below and a high-ceilinged living room above. Every suite has an open-air onsen; the two-floor suites add a second onsen indoors.

The onsen and the spa
The spring is Suzaku-no-yu, a simple spring, neutral and mild, and it fills the open-air onsen of every suite. The hotel also keeps baths scented with the herbs of Eastern medicine, for which Nara is known, and a spa for treatments.

Dining
The dining room serves Japanese courses on the vegetables of Yamato and the season, with the herbs and spices of Eastern medicine in the cooking, and a teppanyaki table within it grills chosen meats in front of the guest.

The hotel stands in a corner of Nara Park at Takabatake, surrounded by garden trees, where the breeze off the park comes down past Mount Kasuga and its temples. It is made around its garden, on the old idea of garden and building as one, and its rooms are wrapped in wood.
Nara Park and its deer are at the door, Kasuga Taisha is a walk away, and the forested slopes of Mount Kasuga rise above.
